Reis has worked in construction since 1980, learning from master craftsmen in historical restoration and finishing techniques. His military experience in the U.S. Army as a demolition expert and later work rehabbing Section 8 and HUD housing taught him how to envision, plan, build, budget, and manage every type of remodel, renovation or new construction project.
Evolving from Reis Calfayan Custom Carpentry (1993), Calfayan Construction was founded in 2000 when Laura assumed ownership and Reis became Operations Manager. Today, Calfayan uses high-tech, energy-efficient, innovative building processes while respecting the environment and recycling/reusing materials from demolition.
From concept and design through construction and finishing, the Calfayan team works closely with clients, managing the work of all sub-contractors with a deadline-driven, fixed-price contract.
