Bowhead Support Services (BSS) provides engineering and documentation support services for the NAVAIR PMA-231, E-2C/C-2 Navy aircraft platforms, serving as the prime contractor. The E-2C Hawkeye is the U.S. Navy//s all-weather, carrier-based, tactical airborne warning and control system platform. It provides all-weather airborne early warning and command and control functions for the carrier battle group. Additional missions include surface surveillance coordination, strike and interceptor control, search and rescue guidance and communications relay. An integral component of the carrier air wing, the E-2C with its state-of-the-art electronics provides early warning, threat analyses, and control of counter action against air and surface targets. Within PMA-231, the BSS NAWCAD E-2C Integrated Test Team//s (ITT) mission includes the following tasks: Acquisition, engineering, test and evaluation of the E-2C aircraft and associated weapon systems Support for testing efforts that range from laboratory examinations of individual equipment to comprehensive flight tests of a total fully integrated weapon system. (The aircraft weapon system test and evaluation encompasses many engineering, flight testing, scientific and business disciplines.) Continual monitoring of engineering material, financial and technical resource requirements This includes continual analysis and evaluation of changes in the E-2C operating programs to assure that resources are available when needed And financial management inventory control and test documentation review and publication.
