McIntyre Builders, Inc., was founded in May of 1987 (incorporated in January 1990), by Duane and Deborah McIntyre. At the inception, Duane performed all hands-on construction labor, as the business expanded we began hiring trade professionals for all labor. Arn McIntyre and John Powers purchased the company in 2001 and took over operations, joined by Kelly in the spring of 2007. Arn conducts design and costing activities and John manages all field construction while Kelly manages all office operations. Arn has more than 20 years experience in construction. He began building during the summers at age 16. He continued working for two local builders in the summers while attending college. Arn obtained his builders license in 1995. He has a Bachelor of Science degree from Michigan State University in Engineering with minor emphasis in Structural Design and also has received a Masters Degree in Engineering from Western Michigan University. Arn worked for nine years as Project Engineer and Engineering Manager in the industrial food industry. He designed and project managed the construction of food processing facilities. The scope of these projects ranged from $750,000 to $88,000,000. Most recently Arn worked at Electrolux/Frigidaire Home Products as an Advanced Engineering Manager. John also has over 20 years of experience in pole frame and new home construction. He started his building experience with his grandfather at the job site for large pole buildings. He later moved to residential home building in the summers during high school and college. John obtained his builders license in 1994. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Manufacturing Engineering from Ferris State University. John worked for over 14 years at Electrolux/Frigidaire Home Products as a Tooling Supervisor, Project Manager and Maintenance Manager. He designed and managed the purchase of tooling and automated manufacturing equipment valued from $50,000 to over $20,000,000.
