APi Construction Co. proudly traces its roots back to 1926 when A.P.I., Inc. was established as a small insulation contracting and distribution division of the mechanical company Reuben L. Anderson-Cherne. Lee R. Anderson became president of the family business in 1964. Under his leadership, Anderson expanded operations in the Midwest region, increasing revenues to approximately $30 million.
In 1980 Anderson launched a strategic initiative to diversify the company within the construction and construction-related industries. In addition to insulation and lagging installation, APi expanded into other key industrial markets, such as scaffolding, establishing both a national and international presence. In 1997 APi Group, Inc. was formed, and APi Construction continued operations as a subsidiary.
Today APi Construction continues to be a nationally recognized union insulation and lagging contractor.
