Company Description:
Lind Excavating was formed in the Spring of 1971 in the eastern part of South Dakota by two brothers, Doug and Greg Lind. The primary scope of business was residential and agricultural utility service work which included installation of farm and water systems, septic systems, residential municipal sewer and water services and small excavations.
In 1974, the company incorporated, becoming Lind-Exco, Inc. Doug Lind was elected President and Greg Lind was elected Secretary/Treasurer. From 1974 to 1980 the company concentrated on installation of mainline municipal utilites (sewer, water, and storm sewer).
In 1981, Lind-Exco, Inc. moved its base operations to Rapid City. Since relocating to Rapid City, Lind-Exco, Inc. has expanded its scope of expertise to include site grading, site fill, and site excavation. This expansion of services has opened up the company's available market and made it possible to complete bids on commercial development projects.
In 1988, Lind-Exco, Inc. began an environmental servies division with the EPA-mandated underground fuel storage tank removals and clean-up of associated contaminated areas.
In 1996, Lind-Exco, Inc. began marketing itself as a full-service site development contractor, qualified in site grading, site utilities, site drainage, site surfacing, curb and gutter, landscaping, retaining walls, and site lighting. This further expansion of services has met with a positive and favorable response from architecs, engineers, owners, and developers, and has proven to be beneficial to our customers from both a financial and scheduling viewpoint.
