Gaines and Company was founded in 1954 by W.L. Gaines Sr. The company began doing small subdivision jobs in Baltimore County and expanded as the County grew in the 50’s and 60’s. Since 1997 the company has been the top producing utility contractor in the State of Maryland. The editors of the Engineering News-Record, a respected industry publication, recently rated us Maryland’s #1 underground utility contractor in their ranking of the top 600 Specialty Contractors in the U.S. We have made their list of the Top 20 Utility Contractors in the nation for over ten years and are now in the top 10 in the country. Gaines & Co. opened an office in Raleigh, North Carolina in 1998 and have steadily been expanding there as well.At Gaines and Company we strive to do whatever it takes to complete a job on-time and under budget.
