Schneider Excavating was founded in the 1930?s by Anthony Schneider. He started out digging basements and grading for residential sites. As his children got older, they joined him in the business. In the late 1960?s his son, Richard, solely took over the business. Richard started to expand the company?s horizons by breaking into the commercial and industrial fields. This proved to be very profitable. By the late 1980?s, Schneider Excavating, Inc. had established a reputable name in the greater Milwaukee area.Tragedy struck the company in 1992, when Richard Schneider passed away. In the midst of this sadness, Steve Ristow, Vice-President at the time, and the rest of the staff, most of whom are still with the company today, kept the company going strong. In 1994, Steve purchased the company and continued in the commercial and industrial markets. Steve Ristow remains President and owner of Schneider Excavating, which can still be found on Main Street in Lannon, its home since conception. A new office addition was added in 1995, but the family flavor has not changed. We welcome visitors anytime during our regular business hours.
