Company Description:
J.R. Filanc Construction Company specializes in building, expanding and renovating water and wastewater treatment facilities. We are one of the few companies that operate as a pure general contractor, typically performing more than 70 percent of our work with our own forces. This places us in a superior position to control project schedules, costs and quality. As a result, we enjoy numerous enduring client relationships spanning many years. We are nationally recognized for our ability and commitment to exceed the industry standard in the design-build and traditional bid-build methods. We have also received national awards for our exceptional safety record and innovative safety programs. The company began in 1952 as a collaboration between four partners, originally named Weardco Construction, with a base of 30 employees. One of the partners, Jack Filanc, bought out the others. He moved the company to San Diego County and renamed it J.R. Filanc Construction Company. Jack's son, Mark, holds a position in senior management of the company: President and Chief Executive Officer.
