C.W. Driver Contractors, founded in 1919, evolved from the partnership of John MacDonald and Clarence Wike (C.W.) Driver, who migrated to Los Angeles from Philadelphia in 1911. The company flourished in the 1920's, building a number of Southern California's landmarks, including Marymount College (now a part of Loyola Marymount University), the Wilshire Methodist Church, and the Adamson House in Malibu.
