Company Description:
Haymills will celebrate 95 years in the construction industry this April and has been involved in the education, healthcare, commercial, historic and property services markets in East Anglia for the past half century. During the Second World War the company was directed by the Government to work on Suffolk airfields used by the US Air Force , and due to the demand for war purpose buildings Haymills benefited accordingly, consolidating the organisation on which future expansion in the contracting world was to be based. One of the primary reasons for the company//s longevity and ongoing success is people , construction is, after all, still very much a people industry. Particular focus is given externally to building long term relationships with public and private clients , and by association, with communities themselves over the years. Whilst internally there is an extensive training and development process that captures trade apprenticeships, school leavers and graduates for management and practical learning, ensuring the skills already established within the company are passed on to new blood. July 2004 marked the most recent and significant change in the company//s history with the successful completion of a management buy-out. This allowed the business to forge ahead independently, maintaining a proactive approach to construction, combined with the traditional expertise the company//s reputation is built upon. This independence brought with it a more fluid method of working with the clients and for the communities that have provided Haymills with the opportunities to grow in the construction market. However, more than that, the directors and staff that currently make up Haymills (the true driving force behind the name) maintain the ,family// ethos established since 1911, with the added energy of being self-determined and commercially driven.
