Established in 1998, SkyBest offers a variety of deregulated services including dial-up and broadband Internet, long-distance, business systems and network solutions. In its role as a competitive local exchange carrier (CLEC), SkyBest has offered dial tone service to the West Jefferson/Jefferson communities of Ashe County since 2003. Through its continuing FTTP (fiber-to-the-premise) network build-out, SkyBest introduced digital television services in July 2008 to limited areas served by SkyLine and SkyBest. In August 2009, the company launched its latest service, SkyBest Security, which provides a full range of home and business security equipment and monitoring services. SkyBest is now a member of the National Burglar & Fire Alarm Association (NBFAA) and is licensed by the State of North Carolina to provide Burglar Alarm Business Services.
