Company Description:
Watts Constructors, LLC, A Weitz Company service customers nationwide to the Pacific Rim. Our offices are located in California, Washington, Colorado, Hawaii and Guam, as well as licensed to do business in Alaska. Our portfolio includes historical renovations, airport renovations, marine waterfront construction, underground utilities, seismic upgrades, national park improvements, military housing, and design-build military projects of all types. Watts Constructors LLC, formerly known as Miller/Thompson Constructors, Inc., was formed in 1993 as a woman-owned small business operating primarily as a subcontractor in the San Francisco Bay Area. In 2004, Miller/Thompson Constructors, Inc. changed its name to reflect the current management team (at the time) after one of the original founders retired. The new company, Miller/Watts Constructors, Inc. once again changed its name in 2006, to reflect the retirement of yet another founder, and with the merger of The Weitz Company. The merger with The Weitz Company, a national construction company, greatly increased our bonding capacity and resources, while leaving the existing management team intact. After 15 years in operation, we have grown into an established provider of construction services ranging in scope from simple utility projects, to large waterfront reconstruction, and now large vertical construction projects. This growth has resulted in the establishment of offices in Guam, Hawaii, Florida, Washington, and Colorado. In June 2007, Watts Constructors' corporate office relocated from Novato, Calfornia to Honolulu, Hawaii to better serve our markets. Watts Constructors has built projects for numerous State and Federal agencies, including the U.S. Navy, the U.S. Army, and the National Park Service, in addition to selected private companies. During this growth, we have expanded both our office and field staff, and have built a team of experienced engineers, project managers, superintendents, and safety professionals who can respond to the challenges that often rise in construction. The Weitz Company is an employee owned company. Employee ownership has intensified our focus on safety and quality as all employees have the pride of ownership attached to each job.
