SCM has been featured in West Virginia Builder Magazine and won design awards through Residential Architect Magazine. SCM is also the proud team for the construction of the Town & Country Magazine 2002 Design Showhouse. Rob Vass (President) joined SCM in 2001 as an independent consultant with a background specializing in custom residential construction. Rob later became an employee as a Senior Project Manager and was asked to take the helm in June of 2003. From the time Rob became President of SCM, it has become the premier construction firm at the Greenbrier Sporting Club. Through strategic management and hiring, Mr. Vass is pleased to be part of what is the finest residential construction management team in the Southeast Region. Peer Rinde-Thorsen (Managing Member) is the Managing Member of SCM. Rinde is a graduate of Rhode Island University and of the University of Rhode Island Graduate School of Business. He has spent his entire career in the construction industry, specializing in the building of architecturally designed custom homes. Before coming to Sterling (WV), he was an instrumental part in the creation of the original Sterling Construction Management at The Ford Plantation outside of Savannah, Georgia, a business which he operated for six years before being attracted to new challenges and the natural beauty of West Virginia. Mimi Coffman (Director of Client Services) works with clients throughout the homebuilding process, from conceptual to design and completion, focusing on maintaining superior client communication. She works with the project manager to assess client expectations and ensures that the SCM team is meeting and exceeding those expectations. Mimi comes from The Greenbrier where she spent eight years in various management positions and specialized in communications. Jim Davis (Associate Project Manager) grew up in Union, WV and attended Marshall University prior to serving four years in the Marine Corp. Upon his return, Jim attended Concord University with a focus in business administration and accounting. Jim has been involved with remodeling and constructing new homes since 1986. Jim plays a key role with SCM managing Copeland Hill, both in terms of maintenance andrenovations. Mike Goodwin (Associate Project Manager) relocated from Charlotte, NC to Lewisburg, WVin 2008 to join SCM. He brings sixteen years of building experience to include four years with Sterling Construction Management, LLC in Richmond Hill, GA where the focus of construction was at The Ford Plantation. Mike, originally from Clevelend, TN attended the University of Maryland and served four years with the Air Force. Mike assists the project managers in the field with scheduling and day-to-day supervision. Andy Collison (Quality Control Carpenter) helps make a house a home. Andy's contribution to SCM comes in a variety of forms from hanging pictures tobuilding screen porches and everything in between. Andy's careful attention to detail and thoroughness are his signature traits. Most home owners are resistant to let him go at the end of a project! Lori Hudnall (Office Manager) Originally from Hinton, WV, Lori obtained her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with a concentration in Accounting from Concord College in 1987. Upon graduation, she has garnered over twenty years of experience in accounting and auditing from various private and governmental organizations before joining SCM in 2005. She is the mother of two andthe grandmother of one. Belinda Evans (Executive Assistant) comes to SCM with a strong background in client service with superior organizational skills. In addition to reception and staff support, she maintains all plan files. Belinda is the mother of three and is originally from Summersville, WV where she attended Platte Community College. Buck Goodman (Senior Project Operations Coordinator) has a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education from Appalachian State University. He obtained eight years experience in design and construction in Washington D.C. and fourteen plus years of experience with architectural woodwork before joining the SCM team in June 2003. Lewis Halstead (Project Manager) is a native of Greenbrier County. He has a Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from Fairmont State College. Lewis worked in a wide variety of construction related fields prior to joining SCM in 2005 as an Associate Project Manager. After two years of assisting on projects, he was promoted to Project Manager. Pete Mareneck (Project Manager) has been building custom homessince 1981.Pete's projects have received notice for energy efficiency, passive solar design and long-term sustainability. Pete believes that one of the most important components of any home building project is a good rapport and mutual trust between owner and builder. He takes pride in the fact that he and his clients remain good acquaintances long after the project is complete. Mike McCarty (Associate Project Manager) installed tile and marble as Sterling's subcontractor for three years before joining the team in 2003. Mike helps coordinate the subcontractors and quality control in the field. Mark J. Solak (Senior Project Manager) is married and a father of six. He was educated in at The University of Buffalo with a concentration on architecture. Mark has worked in construction related fields since 1988, and has been a Project Manager for high-end residential homes since 1998.
