The company was formed in 1949 by the late H.L. Cunningham and the late B.B. Waters Jr., P.E. and has practiced general construction in the two Carolinas continuously since that year. For more than 60 years, we have partnered with a variety of dental, healthcare, industrial, and commercial construction customers.At Cunningham-Waters, no project is too big or too small. We work with a variety of clients in numerous industries to turn visions into brick and mortar. Whether it’s new construction, renovation, addition, or upfit, every project receives unparalleled attention to detail. And, we follow a solid construction process to ensure that no element is overlooked and every client is completely satisfied with their project. We are more than contractors; we are your partners.With each construction project, we offer additional services such as site selection assistance, structural design by an experienced architect, and computer-assisted interior design. Additionally, we provide comprehensive support and personalized service throughout the entire project.Since its inception, Cunningham-Waters has been a family-operated business with an energetic, experienced team. Most of the company leadership has spent their entire career with Cunningham-Waters.Our staff includes permanent positions for craftspeople skilled in the areas of carpentry, masonry, concrete work, and steel erection. Almost all work is performed internally by our staff. We are not a construction management company; the workers that build your facility are our employees. Additionally, we have 10 fully trained superintendents, many of whom have been with us for over 30 years. We categorize ourselves as a design build firm.Our team works diligently to provide the highest level of customer service, which has allowed for 60 years of new and repeat business. We aim to take the hassle out of the building process and create a partnership with each client from concept to completion by communicating openly, working efficiently, and maintaining an honest work ethic.Cunningham-Waters is licensed, bonded, and insured and has appropriate workers compensation.
