Barsto has members in the following organizations: Construction Financial Management Association American Society of Professional Engineers American Society of Safety Engineers National Association of Women in Construction Barsto Construction is a member of the Home Builders Association and Kansas City Hispanic Contractor's Association. We use the same philosophy we use in construction to give back to the Kansas City community. Barsto has made a commitment to Synergy Services Inc., an organization that provides domestic violence services, to provide financial and volunteer support. Barsto's President serves on the Synergy Services Board of Directors. Synergy Services provides a 24-hour crisis hotline for victims of domestic violence and runaway/homeless youth. They also provide emergency shelters for youth, ages 12 to 18, in crisis due to abuse, neglect, abandonment or parental crisis. The Synergy Girls Home provides long-term residential care for girls, ages 12 to 18, who are in the custody of Division of Family Services. SafeHaven Children's Center serves children from birth to age 11 who are in the custody of Division of Family Services. The Synergy Services organization provides prevention and mentoring programs to include: Court Services and Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention programs. The Synergy Services Thrift Store is located at 6571 N. Oak in Gladstone, MO. The store not only generates revenue, but also provides a source for clothing and household items for clients. Barsto conducted its first annual fund drive for Synergy Services in October of 2002. Using our vast subcontractor and supplier database, Barsto on an annual basis conducts fund drives for this organization. Barsto Construction makes additional financial contributions to the organization.
