Company Description:
Glatting Jackson//s Environmental Services Group is currently involved with several projects that have allowed us the opportunity to create regional conservation strategies around proposed developments. In the past, we have created conservation strategies for entire counties in Florida (Sarasota, Pasco) and for substantial rural areas within counties (Seminole, Volusia), and we strive to work for public and private clients interested in sustaining large areas of natural lands that can be managed in perpetuity and connected to public conservation lands. Several of our current projects provide that opportunity. The Starkey Ranch in Pasco County is an approximately 2000 acre ranch that lies adjacent to the Starkey Wilderness Preserve in Pasco County, Florida. We have recently created a conceptual master plan that protects approximately 1000 acres of natural uplands and wetlands adjacent to approximately 20,000 acres of conservation lands in public ownership. In the coming months, we will prepare a detailed management plan for the protection of mature vegetative communities, the creation of a Starkey Institute for environmental education and research, and a network of trails designed to allow residents and the community the opportunity to explore these natural areas. Likewise, the Viera Company has the opportunity to preserve a substantial area of natural lands as a part of its expansion of development in Brevard County, Florida. The 12,500-acre expansion of their current DRI includes a component of large scale conservation planning tied to a state-wide corridor along the St. Johns River. We have created a 4500-acre wilderness park" that provides conservation of extensive wetland systems
