Company Description:
Weston & Sampson Engineers, Inc. maintains a staff of creative landscape architects who help our clients envision the future look of their park/playground or urban design projects. To complement our civil and structural engineering projects, Weston & Sampson//s designers complete thoughtful and pragmatic park and recreation designs, historical and environmental restorations, reuse of Brownfields properties and landfills, city- and town-wide open space projects, and grant applications. Our specific projects have included riverwalks, veterans// memorials, city and town commons, state park and forest amenities, community and school playgrounds and ball fields, track and field complexes, courts and competitive facilities, and the conversion of old railroad ways into nature and bicycle trails. All of our designs ensure Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accessibility and eligibility for federal, state, and local matching grants. Our staff has completed the design of more than 100 athletic field/track projects, as well as numerous courts and competitive facilities. In West Haven, Connecticut, Weston & Sampson developed construction plans for the refurbishment of Ken Strong Stadium, a dilapidated waterfront athletic complex. Work included the construction of a state-of-the-art polyurethane-bound 400-meter track with special provisions for all field events, including the steeplechase. Weston & Sampson offers state-of-the-art designs for such new trends in recreation as skate parks and wet spray play areas. One of our latest skate parks, Koutoujian Playground in Waltham, Massachusetts, ranked 8+ out of 10" on www.skateboarding.com. This creatively designed and implemented facility has garnered the praise of the community. Weston & Sampson designed a passive and active recreation-use park at the former headquarters of the Balfour Jewelry Manufacturing company in Attleboro
