Engineers
Company Description:

HGBD was founded in Savannah, Georgia in 1958 by civil engineers Roy Hussey and Ben Gay who shared a vision for the future growth of their hometown. Rapidly immersed in local community projects, they soon hired Gus H. Bell, III, a young civil engineer working with the Corps of Engineers. As the three shared a single office phone, little did they anticipate how far their knowledge and expertise would reach across the globe in years to come, from Russia to Saudi Arabia. Years later, Buddy DeYoung joined the company, establishing the firms present name.

Steadfast Progression

From its humble beginnings, the company has grown through the decades to emerge as a proven leader in the fields of engineering and architecture. With majority ownership now held by Gus H. Bell, III and son G. Holmes Bell, IV, HGBD has evolved into a family of eight specialized companies under the canopy of the Bell Companies. HGBD operates from six offices worldwide and employs more than 200 professionals.

Dedication to Service

Throughout the years, HGBD has remained committed to its founding principles and the local clients needs. We are proud of our strong relationship with local and municipal governments throughout the southeast. In addition, HGBD is a proud partner with Americas military by providing engineering and architecture on bases around the world. Every client receives the dedicated service of our entire staff, and our client retention speaks to their satisfaction. Let HGBD help you with your next project.
