Company Description:
Back in the mid-1970s, David Evans was a 30-something engineer and surveyor with a comfortable career, but he noticed something amiss: There was no freedom. No vision. No fun.
So on April 1, 1976 with a calculator, a door for a desk, a couple of great clients and high hopes he started David Evans and Associates, Inc. (DEA). From the outset, he envisioned a different kind of company. He figured that if he gave people the freedom and support to pursue their ambitions, he would attract great people. And great people would do great work. Which would in turn attract more great clients.
Three decades later, DEA has grown into a national leader in sustainable design and management solutions, and has consistently provided its clients with award-winning approaches to transportation, energy, water resources, and land development design, planning, and management. As a result, the company has consistently ranked among Engineering News Record's Top 100 Pure Design firms in the U.S. and among the leaders in many of its local markets.
DEA's commitment to its employees comes in many forms: in an employee stock ownership program, and generous benefits and compensation. CE News consistently ranks DEA as one of the Best Engineering Firms to Work For.
The company has grown over the years, but it hasn't strayed from Davids original vision. At heart, DEA is still a group of professionals passionately committed to improving the quality of life, to demonstrating stewardship of the built and natural environments ... and to having fun doing it.
