Mr. Funk got his start in construction soon after graduating from Southern Methodist University with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. He served in the Navy during World War II with the Construction Battalion. Before starting his own company, Mr. Funk worked for a structural engineering firm in Dallas and later for a contractor who completed Dallas' City Hall and Scottish Rite Hospital. He is a Licensed Professional Engineer and Registered Land Surveyor.
