(Universal) is a consulting engineering firm specializing in geotechnical engineering, environmental sciences, construction materials testing, and threshold inspection. Recently, our firm was ranked as the 185th largest engineering firm in the United States! And we are proud to have the distinction of being the largest family-owned firm of our kind in the United States, according to industry surveys. Mr. Seymour D. Israel founded Universal in 1964 in Merritt Island, Florida. Mr. Israel remains actively involved in the firm as our CEO. His son, Mark C. Israel, P.E., serves as the company's president. From our headquarters in Orlando, Florida, we operate a large (450-employee) engineering firm with 17 offices located throughout Florida and Georgia. These offices provide services throughout the southeastern United States. We have strategically located our facilities throughout the state of Florida, and are expanding our service area in Georgia to better serve our clients in the southeast region. All of these offices are fully-equipped and staffed to offer a comprehensive array of engineering and construction-related services to provide for the various needs of our clients.
