RDK was established in 1897 as a specialized mechanical and electrical engineering firm. Today we offer a spectrum of engineering services to provide our clients with total building systems solutions, while remaining a leading MEP/FP specialty firm.
On every project, our goal is to develop a comprehensive understanding of our clients' needs up front, and to design the best building systems to meet them. This may mean the creative use of existing technology to meet special requirements, or identifying and implementing emerging technologies when conventional solutions can't fully satisfy our client's objectives.
Our long history of pioneering the use of new technologies to better meet our clients' needs began with the installation of the first underground steam distribution system in the U.S. at Dartmouth College in 1897. Innovative designs we've developed in the century since include use of radiant floors for heating over 50 years ago, a technology receiving a resurgence of interest today in design of "Green" buildings, and installation of an innovative, energy-efficient HANSA HVAC system at Wellesley College, the first on a U.S. college campus.
