Smith Companies, Consolidated was incorporated as an independent entity in 1994 in Arlington, Virginia. Consolidated leveraged its in-house expertise to establish a growing business providing electrical, mechanical, structural, HVAC, plumbing and other engineering services. Consolidated Engineering Services became a wholly-owned subsidiary of EMCOR in 2002 and established the EMCOR Government Services name in 2007.
