Company Description:
St. Germains Inc. was founded in 1891 as a fabricator of leaded glass church windows and manufacturer and re-silverer of mirrors. With guiding principles of reliability, honesty and competency leading the way the company has seen many changes and improvements over the past century. In the early 1920s they began producing all grades of paint, stains and enamels with an output of 250 gallons per day. With the addition in the early 1940s of distributing Libby-Owens-Ford glass products and Kawneer store front metals and doors there was hardly a commercial building in Duluth that wasnt on their list of projects.
With the 40s also came the addition of distribution of Formica brand plastic laminate and at one time St. Germains was the oldest distributor of Formica in the United States. In the late 1970s we began fabricating countertops and branched into cabinets in the late 1980s.
Our first CNC router in 1996 and a Beam Saw in 1998 started our progression into the 21st century of woodworking. We have a hot-press glue line for panel lamination, 5 x 12 capacity on our 2nd CNC, an edgebander capable of applying 3/4 solid wood and 2 spray booths for finishing work. We have software in place to allow us to take your CAD drawings and send them to our equipment which means that what you draw is what you get.
Having the right equipment is only half of the equation. Our employees have the experience and knowledge to help bring your project from concept to reality in an efficient and cost-effective manner. Our office staff can help you with design and material questions. Our project managers are skilled in guiding the work throughout the process. Our engineering department will ensure that the parts you want are the parts you get and our fabricators on the shop floor have the experience and expertise to produce your project the way you want, when you want.
St. Germains is now the area's largest commercial cabinet fabrication shop. Our facility is modern and well equipped with machinery to let us complete just about any project we are presented with. We are certified in Corian and all other solid surface countertop products, along with Zodiaq, Cambria and other quartz surfacing materials. We would be pleased to answer your questions and promise to give you a professional and enjoyable experience.
We are familiar with LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) requirements and have worked on many LEED certified projects in the area. Learn more about LEED here! As certified AWI (Architectural Woodwork Institute) members we are up to date on its specification and fabrication requirements
