In some ways our concrete formula is different because it's very similar to concrete as it has always been. That sounds like a contradiction but the truth is that most concretes in use today bear little resemblance to the original chemistry of concrete. Call us purists or even hard headed but we think the more concrete is re-engineered, the farther from true concrete it becomes. Typically, the modifications we do to concrete's traditional formula are inherently natural. For instance, the aggregate we use in counter tops, sinks, fireplaces and other precast furnishings is actual Monterey beach sand. Having been polished by the sea, it is non-angular and debris free. This eliminates contaminant material and minimizes porosity which weakens concrete. We also introduce a small amount of internal reinforcement which produces a strengthening quality without changing the chemistry of the concrete.
