The Municipal Housing Authority for the City of Yonkers
(MHACY) goal is to provide decent, safe and sanitary
housing for eligible families and to provide opportunities
and promote self-sufficiency and economic
independence for its participants.

Facts:
-MHACY is the second largest public housing authority
in New York City Area with New York City being the
largest.
-There are 18 developments with 2,029 Conventional
Public Housing apartments throughout the city.
-The Section 8 Program has 2,150 apartments leased
with 780 private landlords.
-HOPE VI Revitalization Grant for the Mulford Gardens
development was granted in June 2004.
-The Homeownership Mortgage Program first began in
Yonkers in March 2003.
