Southcoast Hospitals Group is comprised of three nonprofit community hospitals, Charlton Memorial in Fall River with approximately 700,000 square feet comprised of multiple buildings constructed over a period of years beginning in 1908 with the most recent construction in 2000; St. Luke's in New Bedford with almost 800,000 square feet comprised of multiple buildings constructed over a period of years beginning in 1897 and through 2009 with the recent opening of a 400-car parking garage; and Tobey in Wareham with 170,000 square feet comprised of multiple buildings constructed from 1939 to 2004. The hospitals have been united since 1996 as part of Southcoast Health System, one of the largest and fastest growing health systems in Massachusetts. Southcoast is a community-based health delivery system with multiple access points, offering an integrated continuum of health services throughout Southeastern Massachusetts and East Bay, Rhode Island.
