AWP Pte Ltd, founded as Alfred Wong Partnership in 1957 by the first SIA Gold Medalist continues to develop its approach of Modernity and Methodology, in its contemporary commissions and design competitions.
With a current design direction lead by the younger internationally experienced directors of the company, supported by the depth of experience of their more senior partners AWP Pte Ltd has expanded its area of operation through out South East, China, India and the Middle East.
Although active in China since 1986 with a variety of successfully completed project the companies China office (Chengdu) was opened in 2003 based upon a series of competition wins.
Individually or in international collaboration AWP Pte Ltd remains committed to a process of inquiry, logic and reason to allow the following critical concerns to be explored in our work:
Legibility, hierarchy, narrative creation, appropriate technology usage and an honesty of expression based upon rationally derived and mutually reinforcing ideas for each independent project. This allows recognition of multi-cultural influences, contrasts of client expectation and requirement, technological advances and varying responses to a particular context to be an intrinsic part of the methodological stimulus which is translated into contrasts of architectural form and detail.
