Company Description:
WGS was founded in 1978 by Margaret Ward and Richard Ossey as Ward/Ossey Design Inc. Paul Gibbons joined the company in 1980, and the name changed to Ward/Ossey/Gibbons, Inc. Over the next 27 years, the company grew from 5 people to the current team of 13 with many changes occurring along the way. Dick Ossey retired in 1994 and the newly named company, Ward Gibbons, promoted its first associates: Debora Souza and Melanie Russell, both of whom had been with the company since 1980. The year 2000 saw some exciting changes. Debora Souza became a partner, changing Ward Gibbons, Inc. into WGS, Inc.; and Melanie Russell left to start Lancaster Logistics, a move coordination firm that maintains a strong working relationship with WGS. In June 2005, Natalie Hutley was promoted to WGS//s newest principal. During the past 27 years the firm has earned a reputation in the Portland Metropolitan area for producing excellent design work. Our main areas of design expertise include space planning, large-scale corporate facilities, banking, law firms, healthcare, assisted living facilities, multi-family housing, retail, and tenant improvements. Our philosophy has always been to provide our clients with excellent service, respect their budgets, and develop strong design solutions. Our firm remains a leader in the community in interior design and planning. As a result, clients and consultants consider us an essential member of any project team.
